Established in 1890 In honour of His Highness Sreemoolam Thirunal Maharaja of Travancore
Muvattupuzha
Sreemoolam Union Club, founded in 1890, stands as a proud testament to Kerala’s rich cultural and social heritage. Established in honour of His Highness Sreemoolam Thirunal Maharaja of Travancore, one of the most progressive and visionary rulers of his time, the Club was conceived as a vibrant forum for fellowship, intellectual engagement, and social advancement. Over the decades, it has remained steadfast in its commitment to fostering meaningful relationships, nurturing progressive ideas, and strengthening the spirit of community among its members—true to the ideals of the Maharaja whose name it proudly bears.
The Sreemoolam Union Club was formally established in its present form in 1955 under the patronage of His Highness Sreemoolam Thirunal Rama Varma, the Maharaja of Travancore. Today, it is regarded as one of the most prestigious and elite clubs in Kerala. In 1954, Jawaharlal Nehru, the First Prime Minister of India, visited the Club and expressed great appreciation for the excellent facilities and vibrant atmosphere it offered.
The newly renovated grand Club building is beautifully located on the riverside, just one kilometre from M.C. Road, Muvattupuzha, offering a serene and elegant setting for recreation and social gatherings. Sreemoolam Club provides a wide range of premium amenities, including a bar, fine dining facilities, sporting infrastructure, party venues, and fully air-conditioned rooms. Our sports and recreation facilities include Tennis and Badminton courts, along with Card Rooms, catering to members who enjoy both indoor and outdoor games.
